As we began to pull together the content for this month’s newsletter, our team recognized that much of the new, exciting information our staff has to share is related to our role as leaders. Whether it be leaders in the community, the industries of nonprofit or disability, or leaders in thought, we are proud to play a role in strengthening our communities and encouraging new leaders to champion our mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
This month, the CILCP was re-accredited with the PANO Seal of Excellence, representing our commitment to excellence as a nonprofit organization. In addition, we hosted an informational meeting with PA Health and Wellness, one of the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) that will be administering services under Community HealthChoices. Our Discount Rider Program under Living Well Transport Services is offering heavily discounted transportation services to individuals with disabilities and older adults in our region. And lastly, our team had the opportunity to write a guest editorial for a local media hub, motivate advocates at a statewide conference, and participate in a WITF documentary.
As we reflect on our place as leaders in the communities we serve, we encourage our staff, stakeholders and participants to pursue leadership in their communities as well. Together, we can make a difference.
