Nothing About Us Without Us – Youth Transition Pilot Program

Calling all youth aged 14 to 24! We’re excited to announce the “Youth with Disabilities: Nothing About Us Without Us” Pilot Program on August 20th to 22nd and August 27th to 29th from 5 to 7pm. This program is designed to empower young individuals with disabilities, providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate life’s challenges.
The event will cover a wide range of topics, including:
Self Advocacy: Learn how to speak up for your rights and needs.
Disability Rights: Understand the laws and protections in place for individuals with disabilities.
Healthy Relationships: Discover the keys to building and maintaining positive relationships.
Finances 101: Get a handle on managing money, budgeting, and financial planning.
Housing and Transportation: Explore options for independent living and getting around.
Post-Secondary Life: Prepare for the transition from high school to college or the workforce.
Health and Wellness: Prioritize your physical and mental health with practical tips and resources.
Volunteering: Find out how giving back can enrich your life and your community.
Community Care: Learn about the support systems available in your community.
Accessible Recreation and Hobbies: Discover fun and accessible ways to spend your free time.
