DISABILITY PRIDE – CENTRAL PA

The celebration will include disability advocates, guest speakers, live performances, food trucks, resource tables, and a parade. The overall goal is to promote the pride felt within our community, educate others on what access looks like, and a day where we can come together and celebrate who we are, our accomplishments, and our work for equality.

Why do we do our work? What are our goals?

Disability Pride PA promotes more visibility and cultivates the pride felt within our community as we advocate for an inclusive world. Disability Pride PA imagines a world where every disabled person feels pride through self-awareness, their identity, and their community at large.

Objectives:

1. Produce Disability Pride Philadelphia Parade and support disability pride efforts throughout the state, country, and around the world.

2. Teach disability access and inclusion through workshops, presentations, and events year-round.

3. Offer products and services to businesses/organizations to be more inclusive.

4. Provide opportunities for disabled people to intern/work with Disability Pride PA and provide resources for accessible workplaces.

5. Provide secondary education scholarships for disabled students

6. Support disabled artists through workshops, events, material scholarships, and as a networking resource.

7. Support our local disability/senior populations through community service

8. Develop and implement programs and services about disability pride, arts and culture, and advocacy
